Hi everyone, and thanks for your interest in False Flags. Welcome to this, our inaugural newsletter. And the news is…. We are playing at The Exchange in Bristol this coming Saturday 17th February, at an event organised by respected Bristol metal band, Mortishead. It’s a competition to win a place at this year’s Bloodstock festival. It would be beyond awesome for us to play this, but there are several heats and loads of cool bands we are up against, so we really do need your support. Tickets are a fiver each, and you will get to enjoy five other great bands for your money. Your participation-and vote-mean a lot to us, so please contact us for tickets, either through the website or on firstname.lastname@example.org. As a thank you, we will give you a free CD, just come and say hello to a band member on the night.
Progress in general has been a little slower than we would have liked so far this year, owing to health problems; Chainsaw has had issues with asthma and recurrent chest infections, Horseman damaged a finger badly while playing our Halloween gig and is still troubled by it, and Danno has also been plagued by a recurrent chest infection. Meanwhile, Bassface looks nervous when he is around us…. despite this, we have heroically managed to record a new three-track ep., produced and engineered by the noted team Paul Arthurs and Chads Bradbury, of Paper Label Records. it has two brand new songs-Hands down, and Onslaught-and the first proper recording of Rock for the living. It’s sounding amazing so far, and just need a now recovered Danno to put his vocals down. It should be available for free download in a month or so, watch this space.
We are supporting our good friends, Subset, when thy play the Lower George Inn, Gloucester, as part of their UK tour. This should be an amazing night, so put the date in your diary – Saturday 28th April. Details TBC.
See you down the front.
Chainsaw, Dano, Horseman and Bassface.
